Despite their nickname, swamp coolers are designed to work best in hot, dry climates, so you may still need an air conditioner if you live in a humid area. You can also troubleshoot by adding more water to the tank, attaching a DIY ice pack to boost cooling power, or opening windows to let additional dry air flow inside to keep things comfortable.
Should I bother with evaporative cooling if I already have an air conditioner?
