Know Your Washing Buddy

An EcoWash is the latest hand-operated washing machine that allows you to take care of your laundry in just 2 minutes. Yes, just two minutes! The completely assembled machine has dimensions of 17.5 x 16 x 18 inches, which can easily fit in a kitchen sink or in a tub.
You can imagine the non-electric EcoWash portable washer as a bigger version of your standard salad spinner. The machine is completely made of plastic and is lightweight and easy to work with. You have to assemble the base and put the washing drum in place. Add the crank handle and you are ready to go. The pressure lid keeps the machine sealed to prevent the water from leaking out. Then there are the suction cups at the base of the machine, which help keep the whole set up firmly in place.

How Does It Work?

The best part about the is t hat you do not have to wait until your dirty clothes pile on and you have to do your laundry to be accepted back into the society. With EcoWash, you can wash small loads as you go. If you are feeling lethargic or tired after a hard day's work, then the EcoWash will help you prolong the time between two consecutive big loads. It is a win-win for every type of washer. Now, this is how you wash clothes in an EcoWash.

Step 1

This step is common for doing all laundry and is called €˜sorting your load'. What you have to do here is segregate the clothes into different categories. You should make one pile each of colored cotton and linens, white cotton and linens, colored cotton blends or synthetics, white cotton blends or synthetics, and of course, the delicates.

Step 2

Now it's time to bring out the EcoWash. Place it in a tub, a sink, outdoors, or in your bathroom and put the required amount of detergent and water to get started. Here is a chart to help you out.

Mix the water and the detergent thoroughly and then add the clothes to get the best results.

Step 3

Once the water, detergent, and the clothes are in, loosen up the top knob by turning it counterclockwise. Then place the lid on top of the machine and hold it there securely by pressing down. While simultaneously applying pressure on the lid, turn the knob clockwise to tighten the lid. Tighten the knob until it can't be turned anymore. Ensure that the lid is completely secured by trying to lift it lightly with a finger or two. The lid should not have any room for movement.

Step 4

Once the machine is loaded and locked, it's time to attach the crank handle. Now, start churning and you can follow a standard speed of one turn per second. You can refer the table above for the time you need to keep rotating the machine.

Step 5

Once the wash cycle is over, it's time to undo the pressure lid. Start by unscrewing the pressure knob slowly. This will release the pressure and you will be ready to open the pressure lid. Of course, this time you have to go counter clockwise.

Step 6

There is a valve on the bottom right side of the drum, which releases the dirty water. To drain the water, open the lid to release any pressure inside the barrel. Then, insert the plastic hose, which came with the EcoWash, into the drain valve at the bottom of the barrel. Remember the hose should be inserted in to the valve only when you are prepared to drain the water. This means the machine should be near a tub or a sink, when you attach the hose to the valve. Once you have taken the precautions, push the hose onto the valve, and give it a slight turn in the clockwise direction, while keeping pressure on it. The dirty water will be automatically released and will flow out the hose.

Step 7

To rinse the clothes you can follow the above steps without the detergent. Just pour water and replicate the process for 30 seconds. Repeat it until you are satisfied with the results. 1-2 times usually does the job.

Factors To Take Care Of

Though the process of cleaning clothes in the EcoWash laundry alternative is pretty straightforward, there are some precautions that you should keep in mind. They will help you achieve the best results and also extend the life of your EcoWash. The pressure lid on the machine is a crucial part of the apparatus and it is vital for the machine's optimal performance. The lid keeps the machine airtight when you are washing clothes. The airtight lid helps maintain the pressure within the washer for super clean laundry. High pressure forces the water and detergent mix to permeate through every corner of your clothes and clean them gently. A leaking lid is not capable of maintaining the necessary high pressure inside the machine. That is why, unlike the competitor products in the market, EcoWash's lid is ruggedly built, and will not leak even after months of usage. Never use boiling water for the EcoWash. It can damage the machine. Furthermore, overloading the machine is not advised as it can reduce its shelf-life. When you store the machine, remember that you have to undo the pressure lid and the knobs.

Warranty and After Sales Service

The EcoWash comes with a one-year warranty. This is a limited manufacturer's warranty that covers any issues with the material or construction of the machine. Company-authorized technicians will contact you after you place a concern. They will repair and if needed, replace any parts that are causing the problems.
