Delicious Airfryer Apple Pie
What's better than apple pie? Air fried apple pie! Many thanks to friend Mary, author of Healthy Cooking with an Oil-Less Air Fryer, for showing us how to create this American favorite in our Air Fryer. This is a personal-sized apple pie, enough for one or two people. Serve them up individually at a party or cook one up for yourself as a special dessert. It's a can't miss.
Airfryer Apple Pie Recipe
- Pillsbury Refrigerator Pie Crust
- Baking Spray
- 1 Large Apple, Chopped
- 2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice
- 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons Sugar
- ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 Beaten Egg
- 1 Tablespoon Raw Sugar
You'll also need a mini baking pan, about four inches wide, to cook the pie in. Start by defrosting the pie crust according the directions. Using baking pan, cut one crust, 1/8th of an inch larger than the tin. This will be the bottom crust. Cut a second crust, a little smaller than the tin. This will be the top crust. Spray the baking pan with baking spray and place the larger crust inside, lining the inside of the pan. Place the chopped apple in a small bowl and mix with lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla extract. Place the apple mixture in the cake pan and top with butter. Place the second, smaller crust over the top of the pie and pinch the edges of the top and bottom crusts to seal them together. Cut 3-4 slits in the top crust. Spread the beaten egg over the top crust and sprinkle raw sugar on top of it. Heat the Air Fryer for three minutes at 320°F. Then place the pie in the cooking basket and cook for 30 minutes at 320°F. When the timer's done, remove the pie, slice, and enjoy!
